One of the most beautiful words in the English language is probably ‘serendipity’. Its meaning translates to the occurrence of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way. In the case of Stephanie Bosten and Laura Valkiers, the female power duo behind THE IVORY CLUB, this event was both happy and profitable.
The two power women both got married in 2017, and while hunting down the perfect wedding dress, they came across the same obstacles: while there’s an overload of inspiration on Pinterest, Belgium’s bridal scene doesn’t seem to cater to the cool, modern, young, bohemian bride. This resulted in a light-bulb moment for the duo: opening their own bridal boutique. A boutique that offers unique and luxurious designers, handpicked from around the globe. A store that creates an entire experience, without ever coming off as intimidating, from the moment you enter the store until you find the gown of your dreams.
As if intervened by faith, the two Antwerp-based, young entrepreneurs were introduced to each other and compared their plans. Awestruck by the similarities, Stephanie and Laura decided to join forces. Combining their strengths, experience, aesthetic, personalities and vision into one ambitious goal: The Ivory Club.
At The Ivory Club, young brides and newly engaged women are presented with a new and innovative way of shopping for that one, dream-worthy dress. A carefully curated selection of gowns and designers is offered in a laid-back atmosphere, where Stephanie and Laura work with one-on-one appointments to serve each soon-to-be bride to the best of their abilities. At The Ivory Club, each bride becomes a member of an inclusive club where they are the centre of attention – just as they will be on their special day.
